Each year on Gaudette Sunday, the Third Sunday of Advent, children and adults bring their Baby Jesus figures from the crib at their homes to St. Peter’s Square where the Pope will bless both the people and the figurines during the Angelus.
All are invited to join St. Bridget Parish in the Blessing of the Bambinelli. Bring your Baby Jesus figures to Mass with you, on the weekend of December 14th & 15th, for a blessing.
Following the blessing, take your Baby Jesus figure home, place it in a gift box, wrap it, and save it for Christmas. Let this be the first gift your family opens on Christmas, when together you place your Baby Jesus figure in the crib, and have a home blessing of the Nativity for your whole family.
Using the blessed chalk and prayer card, mark the current year and the initials of the Magi above the outside doorways to your home. Place a cross in between each of the letters. The markings over the doors should be left all year round.
